2014 – current: Drs. Kenneth and Cheryl Cheung Scholarship Programme

Having spent a number of years in Wagga Wagga we have realised that local students could benefit from increased exposure to the various educational programs available in capital cities. Students in regional and rural areas often miss the educational opportunities accessed by their counterparts in larger city areas.

The Drs. Kenneth and Cheryl Cheung Scholarship Foundation was set up to provide financial assistance to local high school students to attend study workshops, school-sanctioned educational activities, agricultural shows and performing arts workshops, etc. To receive this scholarship, local high school students require recommendations from their school teachers, and they are finally selected based on their achievement, by members of the community independent of the fund sponsors.

We provide financial support to these students to enable them to access capital cities to learn and experience – bridging the city-rural divide and providing regional and rural students added assistance for them to achieve a learning outcome that they deserve.

2023: we were a proud sponsor of south wagga tennis club

In 2023 the South Wagga Tennis Club celebrated 100 years since it was established at our existing site and the first court was dug by hand. The club has enjoyed strong growth in membership and participation, and in recent years has upgraded the courts and fencing. However our clubhouse is sadly dilapidated and a new building is desperately needed to ensure players, visitors and community users can enjoy a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.

The club is very proud of it’s history and the role it plays in encouraging all sections of the community to engage in sport. The donation will contribute directly to the health and wellbeing of the local community. The new clubhouse will be accessible for all abilities, provide bathrooms and amenities to foster participation amongst female players and families and will become a meeting place for community groups from across the region.

Eisteddfod is an amazing event that offers performance opportunities to everyone that enters, creating a richer and more vibrant culture, so that we all can dream, perform, achieve and inspire. Wagga Eisteddfod has been contributing to the evolving culture of the Riverina by nurturing the performing arts at a grass roots level and providing life-changing opportunities for young artists. It provides a stage for singers, dancers, actors, musicians, composers, bands, choirs, and orchestras to showcase their talents and perform to a large group of audience. The annual Wagga Eisteddfod is a beacon of inspiration, playing a vital role in the Riverina’s arts community.

2023: we were a proud sponsor of the little mermaid musical at the riverina anglican college

To celebrate The Riverina Anglican College’s 25th Year Anniversary, “The Little Mermaid” musical was created by a group of committed teachers and talented students. This wonderful event also fostered creativity and confidence among budding performers. Beyond entertainment, it provided an invaluable platform for students to express themselves, build lifelong friendships, and cultivate a love for the arts that can last a lifetime. 

2022-2023: we were a Silver sponsor of christmas with the con

Christmas with the Con was a free community Christmas event hosted by the Riverina Conservatorium of Music, featuring a talented line up of advanced student and professional musicians at Wagga’s Victory Memorial Gardens. The audience and participants in this event were delighted as a mix of classical and contemporary pieces were brought to life by the ensembles and combined choirs.

2021: we were a gold sponsor of the subs in schools competition

The Subs in Schools Competition allows students to explore the complex challenges of maritime engineering and hydrodynamics using coding and electronics as they design and build operational submarines and Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles. We proudly supported the students of Wagga Wagga Christian College to extend their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) learning by taking part in this competition.

2020: we were a gold sponsor of 4×4 in schools technology challenge

We proudly supported the students of Wagga Wagga Christian College who participated in the “4×4 In Schools Technology Challenge”, a National STEM competition where they were awarded the title of National Champions.

The 4×4 in Schools Technology Challenge is an international competition which involves developing, manufacturing and testing a remote control car. The team collaborate with different industries, developing public speaking and marketing skills which will assist in their future careers.
